Onboarding timeline

How a typical engagement unfolds

Ask a question

Week 1 — Discovery call

We review your current accounts, income sources, and near-term cash needs. You receive a short list of documents to gather before the next step.

Week 2 — Data review

Statements, tax summaries, and pension details are checked against your goals. We flag gaps like uncovered insurance or high-fee holdings.

Week 3 — Draft plan

You get a written outline covering savings rate, asset allocation, and withdrawal order. Nothing is locked until you confirm the assumptions.

Week 4 — Review and adjust

We walk through the plan together, adjust for tax or cash-flow constraints, and agree on the first three actions to take in the next month.

Month 2 — Implementation

Accounts are rebalanced, automatic transfers are set, and beneficiary details are updated. You receive a checklist of what was done and what remains.

Quarterly — Check-in

We compare actual spending and contributions against the plan. Changes in income or family situation are reflected in a revised projection.

What the onboarding process covers

Finwise onboarding

Before your first session, we walk through your current accounts, income sources, and any existing investments. This step is about gathering facts, not selling products. You will leave with a clear picture of what we can review together and what stays outside the scope.
